July 4, 1863 the Navajos attacked Fort Craig, also site of the Civil War battle at Valverde in 1862-old Glory still flies there today in southern New Mexico.

Wild mountain Iris are blooming on the top of Cumbres Pass, in southern Colorado (10,022 feet above sea level), where they are still sharing the ground cover with snow!

I looked out the window and saw this double rainbow tonight arching over the Sandias--the air had a wonderful aroma of moisture, which means the monsoons will be arriving soon--thank goodness!
